Position Title: Packaging & Product Graphics Intern (Shanghai) General Description The Packaging and Product Graphics team is seeking an intern whose core function will be two- fold: s/he will be an assisting set-up of new office in Shanghai while assisting the Packaging Print Manager in ink and foil development. S/he will also be responsible for minor day-to-day tasks, such as receiving print samples and maintaining an organized office space. The ideal candidate has a willingness to learn, a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and high standards for quality. At the intersection of art and engineering, the Packaging Graphics team is constantly tasked with executing simplicity and elegance in a manufacturing environment. Awareness of limitations and new technologies is critical. Responsibilities (includes but not limited to): Assistant to Packaging Print Manager • Collaborate with Packaging Print Manager and Producers to develop new Spot Color Inks. • Collaborate with Packaging Print Manager and Producers to develop new hot and cold foils. • Participate in meetings and provide updates to the relevant teams. • Collect deliverables from cross functional teams: producers, R&D manager, etc. • Collect and organize supplier equipment lists, processes & procedures. • Track supplier progress on initiatives or improvements, and audit results. • Create a library for all samples and a tracker spreadsheet. • Prepare and organize samples and data for review. • Collect samples from suppliers and organize them for our Packaging Atelier event. Support to Print Specialist/Shenzhen • Coordinate with Print Specialist for any transfer of collateral (proofs, press sheets, drawdowns, etc). • Collaborate with Print Manager and Print Specialist for any ink or foil development. Team Support • Monitor and record incoming sample shipments and follow up with Print Manager or Print Specialist, if review is required; ensure feedback is collected in a timely manner. • Maintain filing systems and improve when possible. • Collect materials at the end of each season for record-keeping (including packaging samples, document bundles, etc.) Qualifications and Skills • Pursuing a graduate or post-graduate degree related to print for packaging • Knowledge of pre-press, printing processes, materials, inks, adhesives, and print decoration and finishing techniques. • Ability to appreciate small color variations; Must have a passing score at or below 5 on the Munsell test • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple milestones / deliverables simultaneously • Creative problem-solving skills. • Adaptable, flexible, and resourceful when managing changes in product definition, time constraints, etc. • Exceptional organizational skills • Positive, can-do attitude; proactive self-starter • Computer skills / software: Must have basic operating skills in Adobe Creative Cloud: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe Acrobat Proficient in Mac OS and native apps Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word Data base management systems
